Emergency number for safety data sheets according to REACH
Special medical knowledge is often required after an accident where persons have been exposed to chemicals. In Germany, this information is provided by the poisoning information centres. Furthermore, according to the REACH regulation 1907/2006, in Europe you are obliged to put an emergency number on your safety data sheets where in emergencies medical advice regarding the handling of chemical substances or products can be obtained. The legal basis in Germany for consumer products here is §16e Chemicals law.
You receive your emergency number for your safety data sheets from us.
Our partner here is the Poisoning Information Centre for North Germany, GIZ-Nord in Göttingen, which runs the European Poisoning Emergency Call Centre for Material Safety Data Sheets (EPECS) currently being set up. EPECS is the solution for companies who market their products throughout Europe and who are obliged to place emergency numbers on their safety data sheets. The GIZ-Nord takes over the provision of the safety data sheets for the appropriate poisoning emergency call centre.
Your advantages when we provide your safety data sheets:
- Automatic integration of the appropriate country-specific emergency numbers in the safety data sheet and forwarding to GIZ-Nord.
- Distribution of the safety data sheets to the corresponding national centres throughout Europe by GIZ-Nord.
- Safety for your customers who have the assurance that competent help in the national language is available under the given number.
- No further administrative burden for our clients.
